Beverly Hoerner, 76, of Sandusky, passed away early Sunday evening, Aug. 18, 2013, at Twilight Gardens following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 22, 1937, in Sandusky, to William P. and Florence W. (Strub) Ackerman.
Beverly was a 1955 graduate of Sandusky High School. She was employed for many years at the Sandusky YMCA where she worked as a secretary. She was a lifetime member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ. In her spare time she enjoyed genealogy research, old-time movies, country music, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Steven D. Hoerner; two sons, Andy and Dean Silcox; daughter Wendy Zellner; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Kaser, and Elaine (Larry) Jarrell; nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, William and John Ackerman in infancy; and her Grandma Strub.
Friends may call, 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the funeral home. Rev. Jerry Fenske will officiate. Burial will be held at Sandhill Cemetery.
