Floyd Morton "Mort" Palm, 84, Sandusky, formerly of rural Bellevue, died at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013.
Mort was born in Green Springs, Dec. 15, 1928, to Floyd Russell and Dorothy Jane (Howey) Palm. He attended Green Springs High School through 11th grade, then graduated in 1947 from York High School. He enjoyed gardening, farming, all outdoor activities, big band music, photography, and reading.
In 1988, he retired from the N&S Railroad after 40 years of service.
On March 28, 1948, he married Wanda Karnes, and she survives; as do their children, Roger (Dorothy) Palm of Gibsonburg, Ohio; Jon (Diantha) Palm of Lorain, and Suzette (George) Rubel of Bellevue; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister, Jan Jones of Evansville, Ind.; and sister-in-law, ClaraBelle (Richard) Mengus, Claraton, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, until the service at 1 p.m. at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church. Rev. Scott McCutcheon and Rev. Paul Atkinson officiating. Burial will be in York Chapel Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel or Columbus Avenue United Methodist Church, Sandusky, or the Bellevue Library.
