Betty (Maruskin) Yonek , 83, of Huron and Punta Gorda, Fla., died Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, in Parkvue Health Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born Nov. 21, 1926, in Pleasant City, Ohio, and resided in Huron from 1962-82 coming from Cleveland. She then resided in Punta Gorda.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Union Corners and the Order of Eastern Star of North Olmsted, Ohio. She enjoyed photography, birds and her flowers.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth (Dee) Yonek of Gahanna, Ohio, and Gary (Marge) Yonek of Huron; three grandchildren, Zach and Kira Yonek and Melissa (Matt) Rogers; and great-grandchildren, Andrew and Rachel Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Yonek; a daughter, Laura; parents, Joseph and Susan (Lazor) Maruskin; five sisters, Susan Zabawski, Ann Featherston, Mary Jupina, Julia York and Mildred Spoth; and a brother, John Maruskin.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Foster Funeral Home, 410 Main St., Huron. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel, 4444 Galloway Road, Sandusky. The Rev. William Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Sandusky.
