Edward J. Nickles, 67, of Norwalk died peacefully Tuesday morning, July 27, 2010, at home after a lengthy illness.
He was born Sept. 3, 1942, in Sandusky. He retired from Sandusky Foundry and the Sandusky Walmart. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, St. Anthony Catholic Church and Norwalk American Legion Post 83.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia (Semprich) Nickles of Norwalk; daughter, Tonya (Scott) Gross; sons, Anthony "Butch" (Dana) Nickles of Arizona, John (Blyndia) Nickles of Collins, Lenny (Diana) Nickles of Norwalk and George (Michelle) Nickles of Tennessee; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy (Don) Jordan, Georgetta (Steve) Meyer, Darlene Nickles, Sue (Ron) Griffin, Annette (Vince) Klein, JoAnn (Ray) Fox, Tina "Kid" (James) Jacobs, Tammy Nickles, and Bonnie Boyd; brothers, Lloyd Nickles, Terry Nickles, Tracy (Tracy) Nickles; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Mikey Ezell; parents, George and Helen (Schippel) Nickles; and brothers, Ronald, Jeffery and Jerry.
Family and friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday in Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. A service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Frank Kehres presiding. A motorcycle procession will escort Mr. Nickles to the crematory for final disposition. A luncheon will be in the St. Paul Catholic Church gathering space.
