Madonna J. “Donna” Harshberger, 87, Norwalk, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, in Norwalk Memorial Home.
She was born May 21, 1926, in Bismark, Ohio, to Aloysius A. and Anna C. (Ringlein) Myers, and was a lifelong area resident.
Donna was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Women of St. Paul, was the church secretary, and a volunteer at the church for many years. She was a 1945 graduate and valedictorian of St. Paul High School. She was also a secretary at the Norwalk Reflector, employee of Crow’s Deli, and the Modern Market.
Donna enjoyed playing cards and crocheting, was an avid bowler, and also enjoyed working outdoors and taking care of her home.
Donna is survived by her children, Karen A. Davis of Norwalk, Allen A. Harshberger of Palm Harbor, Fla., Diane M. and Bill Duncan of Norwalk, David J. Harshberger of Norwalk, and Michael J. and Maureen Harshberger of Norwalk; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, Martin J. and Jean Myers of Norwalk.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Harshberger in 1987; brothers, Robert, Albert, Carl, John, Wilfred, and Herman; and sisters, Rosemary Pfleiger and Mary Ann Westhoven.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Thursday, August 15, at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 16, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk. Rev. Kenneth Morman will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
