Mabel K. Norman, 85, of Sandusky passed away at her home early Tuesday morning, July 6, 2010, surrounded by her family following a brief illness.
She was born April 2, 1925, in McKeesport, Pa., daughter of the late Mabel (Biechler) and Bertram Newell Sr. Mabel was a 1943 graduate of Bellevue Central High School. She was a receptionist for Drs. Printy and Smith and then with Sandusky Packaging Corp., retiring in 1997. Mabel was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sandusky and was a member of the Naomi Circle at church. She was also a member of the Sandusky Yacht Club. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. She liked to travel, eat out and spend time with family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia A. Norman of Sandusky; and sons, Kevin S. (Rena) Norman and Gregory A. Norman, both of Huron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester J. Norman, Jan. 2, 2008; parents; sister, Ruth Lieber and infant sister, Anita Jean Newell; two brothers, Bertram Newell Jr. and Richard Newell.
Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Bardshar Road, Sandusky with the Rev. Phillip Gardner presiding. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
