Glen J. Brunner, 91, of Sandusky died Wednesday night, June 23, 2010, in Lutheran Memorial Home, Sandusky, following a brief illness.
He was born Jan. 9, 1919, in Sandusky, and was a 1938 graduate of Margaretta High School. He was employed by Philco for 25 years and retired from Ford Motor Co. after 22 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Glen is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Butler, to whom he was married 58 years; his daughter, Glenda (James) Peterson; three sons, Jeffery (Karen) Brunner, Timothy (Mary) Brunner and Randall (Patricia) Brunner, all of Sandusky; nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Joseph, Jessica, Kellie, Kerrie, Seth, Joshua, Caitlin and Cody; six great-grandchildren, Cameron, Phoenix, Caden, Carter, Chelsea and Addison; sister-in-law, Mildred Brunner; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Cora (Zeller) Brunner; two sisters, LaVerna Harkness and Kathryn Jacoby; and three brothers, Wayne, Frederick and Harold Brunner.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky, with the Rev. Jason Kahle officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
