Scott A. Hite, 56, of Norwalk passed away early Tuesday morning, June 15, 2010, at his home after a five-month long battle with cancer.
Born June 19, 1953, in Avon, Ohio, to George Thomas and Doris Jean "Babe" (Glomb) Hite, Scott was a 1971 graduate of Norwalk High School. He owned and operated, with his brother, Robin, Hite Produce until 2000. His true passion was the outdoors; he loved going duck hunting and was a true fisherman at heart. He could tell some stories.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy S. (Brown) Hite, whom he married Aug. 5, 1995; children, Kimberly (James "Bo") Cornwell of Findlay, and Brenda (Don "Bud") Romell and Christopher (Megan) Fluke, both of Norwalk; five grandchildren, Cody, Dylan, Alyssa, Ethan and Emma; sister, Sharon (Jack) Boston of Reno, Nev.; brother, Robin (Regina) Hite of Monroeville; a niece, two nephews and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday in David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. At the request of the family, cremation will take place following visitation. The family will host a "Celebration of Life" for Scott 5-10 p.m. Saturday in Knights of Columbus, 254 W. Main St., Norwalk.
