Betty Jane Roth, 86, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Thursday evening, July 25, 2013, in Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Betty was born June 27, 1927, in Fremont, daughter of the late Joseph E. and Hazel G. (Snavely) Soule.
Betty was a member of St. Stephen UCC and served as a Den Mother for Cub Scouts Pack 27 for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed crafts, sewing, cooking, baking cakes, gardening, camping, and spending time with her family and friends.
Betty is survived by her twin daughters, Carol Roth and Cheryl (Jeff) Bambach, of Sandusky; five sons, Duane (Debbie) Braun, of Bellevue, Jeff (Jolene) Braun, of Shepherdsville, Ky., Randy (Linda) Roth, of Milan, Ricky (Wanda) Roth, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Scott (Loretta) Roth, of Sandusky; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Braun, of Madisonville, Ky.; three stepchildren, Barb (Leroy) Bickley, of Guilford, Conn., Wayne "Skip" (MaryBeth) Roth, of Marblehead, and Donna (John) Steiert, of Huron; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Aspden and Lynette Spitler of Fremont; one brother, Charles (Wanda) Soule, of Clyde; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Rollin Braun; second husband, Wayne Roth; son, Robert Braun; parents; sisters, Mabel Hunter, Luella Engler, Esther Beier, Hazel Moyer, and twin sisters in infancy; and brother, James Soule.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, until a memorial services at 1 p.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Jerald Fenske will preside. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
