Mary Ellen Brown, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013.
She was born Feb. 19, 1952, in Sandusky, to Clifton Brown and Mary (Alexander) Brown.
Mary loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She always had the heart of an angel. She was employed by Ohio Veterans Home, Goodwill Industries and Sandusky Y.M.C.A., and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Mary is survived by four children, Jason L. Brown, of Toledo, Aris Brown, of Sandusky, Stacy Lewis, of Fort Stewart, Ga., and Drake Lewis, of Columbus; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister, Karin (David) Moore; foster sisters, Marjorie Taylor, Irma Woods, Geraldine Darden and Pamela Kidd; foster brother, Anthony Woods Sr.; special friends, Minnie Ruffin and Shirley Swain; as well as several aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Denise Brown; foster parents, Frank and Blanche Woods Sr.; and foster brother, Frank Woods Jr.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, until a service at 1 p.m. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Private interment will take place in Oakland Cemetery.
