Arguster (Poole) McNeal, 94, Sandusky, departed this life Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, in Stein Hospice Care Center.

She was born Aug. 11, 1915, in Laurel, Miss. Arguster retired from Memorial Hospital, Sandusky, in 1985. She became a member of Mount Zion COGIC in 1969 under the leadership of Elder Noel, where she served on the Mothers' Board. She enjoyed music, singing, traveling and, most of all, being surrounded and embraced by her family and friends.

Arguster leaves to cherish her precious memories, daughters, Pearlie Manuel of Jordan, Ala., Marilyn (Roscoe) Gaston of Chatom, Ala., and Carolyn Lanier, Linda, Mary (Tony) Johnson, Allean, and Boria "Sofie" (G.J.) Harris, all of Sandusky, Virginia Jordan of Mississippi and Jeanette Gilliam of Dayton; sons, Andrew "Bill" Johnson, Ray C. White and Allan (Delores) White; stepson, Harold Hollinger; and honorary son, Benjamin "B.J." Johnson, all of Sandusky; 71 grandchildren; 133 great-grandchildren; 56 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Willie Ray (Alice) Poole, Millry, Ala.; devoted sisters-in-law, Ertha Poole and Alma Poole; loyal friend, Lillie Thornton; goddaughter, Betty Davis; best friend, Jerlene Collins; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Mack McNeal; sons, Eddie Williams and Frank Donald; daughters, Retha Mae Donald and Charoletta Ward; grandchildren, Frank Jr. and Faith Matthews; great-grandchild, JaQuez Walls; parents; Alfred and Mary (Perkins) Poole; stepmother, Ella Poole; sister, Lillian Smith; and brothers, Leon, R.C., Lee and Frank.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday in Mount Zion Church of God in Christ, 1814 Second St., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday in New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1920 Shelby St., Sandusky. The Rev. Curtis L. Johnson Jr. will officiate. Superintendent Ross Johnson will provide the eulogy. Entombment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
