James “Chris” Turner, 45, of Bellevue, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born Feb. 23, 1968, in Sandusky, to James and Martha (Miller) Turner. Chris worked in the maintenance department at WSOS in Green Springs. He was co-owner of the Cider Mill carryout that he and John Strayer opened in 2002.
He was a member of Eagles Aerie 490, and St. John’s Lutheran Church. He had a passion for the outdoors as he enjoyed fishing, four wheeling, or working with his cattle. He loved the game of football and volunteered for many years coaching youth teams. Most of all Chris enjoyed helping his children with their various activities.
He is survived by his wife, Tina (Dewitt), whom he married, May 27, 1995 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bellevue; two children, Logan and Lauren Turner; father, James Turner, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; mother, Martha Turner, of Washington Court House, Ohio; brothers, Tom (Shannon) Turner, of Bellevue, and Matthew (Jennifer) Turner, of Charlotte, S.C.; a sister, Sarah (Chris) Dutton, of Washington Court House; a half brother, Theo (Chauna) Turner, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and half sister, Melissa (Kirk) Turner, of Delaware, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Friends will be received 2-6 p.m. Sunday, July 21, at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 209 Southwest St., Bellevue, OH 44811.
