Tom Miller, 52, of Port Clinton, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, following a lengthy illness.
Tom was born March 26, 1961, in Toledo, the son of John G. and Genevieve “Genny” (Wiley) Miller. On Sept. 17, 1983, in Port Clinton, he married Gail Wahlers and she survives.
Tom worked as a floor installer for Young’s Floor Covering & Draperies for more than 20 years. He was an avid bowler who achieved six 300 games. Tom started running in his 40’s, and he loved going on his yearly fishing trips with his son and friends. Being a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan, he loved to harass fans of that minor league Cleveland team.
Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Gail Miller of Port Clinton; daughter, Lauren (Jimmy) Boss of Port Clinton; son, Craig Miller of Port Clinton; grandchildren, Parker and Grady Boss; brothers, Mike (Sherry) Miller of Toledo, and Matt (Jody) Miller of Port Clinton; sister, Mary (Rick) Landmark of Avon Lake, Ohio; mother-in-law, Gerri (Ken) Gill; father-in-law, Glenn Wahlers; and his constant companion, his dog Max.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John S. Miller; and step mother-in-law, Betty Wahlers.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton. A Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, at the funeral home.
Memorial donations in memory of Tom may be given to Safe Haven Animal Rescue, or Jessica Schenk Memorial Fund.
