Edward C. Thurn Sr., 74, of Clyde, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at his home.
Ed was born April 25, 1939, in York Township, Sandusky County. He graduated from York High School in 1958.
He was a farmer who also worked at A Schulman, Bellevue, until retirement in 2005.
Ed was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde, where he had previously served on church council and various committees. He was a member of the church dartball team.
Mr. Thurn was a co-founder of Clyde Biddy Wrestling.
On April 23, 1960, he married Linda Huffman. She preceded him in death on Nov. 30, 2009.
Survivors include four children, Edward C. (Kandy) Thurn Jr., of Clyde, Jeffrey A. Thurn, of Clyde, Steven (Jenelle) Thurn, of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Tracy (Andy) Atkinson, of Gibsonburg, Ohio; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three sisters, Regina Smith, Margaret (Herb) Bouyack, of Clyde, and Rosalie Moyer, of Bloomville.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 8, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde. The Rev. Gerhardt Gosnell will officiate. Burial will be in Bakertown Cemetery.
