Joseph “Joe” A. Bywaters, 50, of Castalia, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, June 29, 2013, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 10, 1963, in Van Wert, Ohio, and graduated from Van Wert High School in 1981. Joe also attended the University of Toledo School of Law. He worked for Tower Automotive for nearly 20 years.
Joe loved his dogs, Cody and Bailey. He also loved camping, and was very handy - helping to build his house. But for Joe, his family and friends were the most important. He was selfless and was there for anyone who needed him, without question or hesitation.
Joe is survived by his wife, Donna (Kelly) Bywaters, whom he married Aug. 22, 1992; son, Josh (Amber Vogle) Kelly, of Sylvania, Ohio; mother, Carol S. Burnett, of Van Wert; sisters, Valerie Rhymes, of Oklahoma, Melissa Bywaters, of Toledo, and Risé (Keith) Martz, of Van Wert; birth father, Charles Bywaters, of Columbus; mother- and father-in-law, Mabel and Clayton Kelly; sisters-in-law, Charlene Kelly and Sherri (Doug) Warren; nieces and nephews, Michael and Rochelle Rhymes, Dezmond and Dylan Bywaters, Megan (Jonathan), Tyler, and Keigen Martz, Cody, Dylan, and Brooke Warren, and Heather (Brian) Tucker; great-niece, Jetta; and great-nephew, Chance.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Burnett; brother in infancy, Robert Jeffrey Bywaters; and beloved pets, Abby, Haley, and Alex.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 5, at the Church of God, 1018 W. Bogart Road, Sandusky, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6. The Rev. Walt Salisbury will officiate.
