Paul E. Hoelzer, 84, of Castalia, died Thursday afternoon, June 27, 2013, in Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.
He was born May 13, 1929, in Sandusky, and was a 1947 graduate of Sandusky High School. He was employed at Ohio Edison for 42 years, retiring in 1990, was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea.
He was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ in Castalia.
Paul is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Jane Hacker; one daughter, Rebercca Jane Hoelzer, of Sandusky; two sons, David (Linda) Hoelzer, of Brandon, Fla., and Mark (Marsha) Hoelzer, of Lewis Center, Ohio; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Gloria) Hoelzer, of Sandusky; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Helen (Miller) Hoelzer.
Private services will be Monday, July 1, at Ransom Funeral, 610S. Washington St., Castalia. Pastor John Paputza will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
