Irma K. Homan, 90, of Monroeville, died Wednesday evening, June 26, 2013, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, following a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Monroeville and was a life long resident of the area. Irma was a member of the Congregational Community United Church of Christ, Monroeville, the Women’s Fellowship of the Church, Golden Eagles, One Alone, and had volunteered for 15 years at Fisher Titus Medical Center.
She worked side by side with her husband as a farmer and at Riverside Cemetery as the sexton for many years.
She is survived by three sons, Marvin Homan, of Willard, Roland (Cheryl) Homan, of Monroeville, and Randy (Cindy) Homan, of Huron; three daughters, Nancy (Edward) Stallkamp, of Sandusky, and Bonnie Smith and Judy (Richard) Libbee, of Norwalk; 14 grandchildren; 32 great- grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Leber, of Willard; one sister, Juanita Reis, of Monroeville; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland, in 1981; one daughter, Marilyn Jean in infancy; one grandson, Barry Stallkamp; her parents, Philip and Eda (Weilnau) Homan; two brothers, Lester and Paul Leber; and one sister, Mary Milkie.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 28, at Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe St., Monroeville, and from 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 29, until a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at Congregational Community United Church of Christ, 29 Chapel St., Monroeville. The Rev. Dr. Wayne Chasney will officiate. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
