Bryan M. McCarthy, 37, of Sandusky, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, June 19, 2013, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
He was born March 5, 1976, in Sandusky and was a 1994 graduate of Perkins High School. Bryan was employed by Ford Motor Company, Brook Park plant.
He was an avid sports fan, enjoying golf, playing video games, the Cleveland Browns and riding motorcycles. He also volunteer as a coach in the grade school programs with football and basketball. But most of all, he loved to spend time with his son, Kyle.
He is survived by his son, Kyle M. McCarthy, his mother, Carol A. McCarthy, his father, Robert L. (Debbie) McCarthy, one brother, Shane McCarthy, and paternal grandmother, Ruth McCarthy, all of Sandusky; one half sister, Julie Kincer Lacy, of Toledo; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.\
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert A. McCarthy, and his maternal grandparents, Ellsworth and Lorean Klein.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday, June 24, at Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, and from 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, until funeral services at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church, 3410 Hayes Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. John W. Berkebile will officiate. At the request of the deceased, cremation will follow.
