Arthur M. McCarty, age 91, of Norwalk, passed away Sunday evening, June 16, 2013, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 24, 1921, in Dellroy, Ohio, to Marshall and Lura McCarty, and was a graduate of Dellroy High School.
He was in agricultural sales all of his life, and retired in 2011 after 45 years of service as a sales manager at Schlessman Seed Company, Milan. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Norwalk, Elks Lodge, Eagles Club, VFW Post 2743, American Legion Post 41, Moose Lodge, Kentucky Coronels, and a Master Mason Chapter, 32 degree. He enjoyed golf, cards and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J. (Jury) McCarty of Norwalk; sons, Michael (Donna) McCarty of Blufton, S.C., Patrick (Beverly) McCarty of Lancaster, Pa., and John (Diana) McCarty of Norwalk; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Marshall (Pat) McCarty of Massillon, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Adaline; and brother, Raymond.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at the funeral home, Rev. Adrian Doll officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date.
