Elinor “Jean” Jensen, 90, of Huron, died Sunday, June 16, 2013, in her daughter’s residence in West Salem, Ohio.
She was born May 15, 1923, in Sandusky, and was a lifelong resident of Huron, living with her daughter for the past three years.
Jean volunteered at St. Peter School Cafeteria for several years, she worked for Dr. R.H. Williamson for five years, and then for the Huron Board of Education and Huron High School as an administrative secretary for eight years.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron, and the Huron Child Study Club. She loved to dance and enjoyed gardening and canning. Her family and grandchildren were her joy in life.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Leonard) Pack of West Salem, and Linda Geretz of Sandusky; two sons, Rick Jensen of Huron, and Ronald (Darlene) Jensen of Norwalk; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Jensen, in 2009; her parents, Henry and Cora (Zimmerman) Hahn; and sisters, Lois Shuster, and Marilyn Brown.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main St., Huron. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St., Huron, with Rev. Jeffery Sikorski officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
