Bernice F. "Sis" "Bernie" Billman, 77, of Sandusky, passed away early Tuesday evening, June 11, 2013, in Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, after a lengthy illness.
She was born April 7, 1936, in Sandusky. She had worked for Greyhound Bus Lines and drove for Betty Rinderle School for many years.
She enjoyed crocheting and sewing and in her earlier days, dancing and skating. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
Bernice was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was involved with working Bingo and she had been a Girl Scout Leader.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert W. Billman whom she married Jan. 20, 1954; her family, Christine (Doug) Davis, of Dayton, Texas, Robert (Paulette) Billman, of Toledo, Shirley (Steve) Hohler, of Sandusky, Tom (Lisa) Billman, of Sandusky and Sharon (Eric) Geffert, of Houston; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Margaret McCullough and Blanche in infancy.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 14, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Philip Feltman will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
