Carl Seiche Jr., 95, of Sandusky died early Saturday evening, Feb. 27, 2010, in Ohio Veterans Home following a brief illness.
He was born March 21, 1914, in McKeesport, Pa., son of the late Karl and Bertha (Knaf) Seiche Sr. Carl was a member of Holy Angel's Catholic Church and Sandusky Eagles 444. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy during World War II. Carl worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps before joining the service and was employed by Union Chain for 20 years before retiring from the Ford Motor Co. in 1981 after 27 years of service.
Carl enjoyed gardening and was multi-gallon blood donor.
He is survived by his brother, Robert W. (Alice) Seiche of Milan; one nephew, Robert M. (Heather) Seiche of Natick, Mass.; three nieces, Monica J. (Jeff) Sommers of Monroeville, Marilyn S. (Chin Tan) Mistry of Lisle, Ill., and Margaret C. (Jacob) Ho of Beijing, China; and nine great-nieces and nephews.
Including his parents, Carl was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Ludwig Seiche.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Wednesday until funeral services at 11 a.m. in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Kris Kardiz will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
