Harold E. (Sonny) Boetticher, 60, residing in Huron, passed away Tuesday evening, June 4, 2013, in Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness.
Sonny was born Sept. 15, 1952, in Sandusky, son of the late Harold and Dorothy (Winklea) Boetticher-Mantkowski. Harold was a Sandusky High School graduate. He retired from Tenneco Inc. in 2010 where he worked in the factory.
He loved hunting geese and deer, fishing, gardening, being outdoors, and building things. Time spent with family was an important part of his life.
Sonny is survived by his wife, Sandra (Foltz) Boetticher, whom he married Sept. 26, 1981; two children, Amy (David Stroman) Boetticher, of Columbus, and Kevin Boetticher, of Huron; sister, Sharon E. (Jim) Ostheimer, of Sandusky; nephews, Brian Ostheimer, of Cincinnati, Chad (Jen) Ostheimer, of Columbus, and their sons Zachary and Owen.
Friends may call 3-6 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, and from 10 a.m. Monday, June 10, until funeral services at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. John B Mawhirter will preside. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
