Jane Frances Wiggins, 69, of Sandusky, and formerly of Kelleys Island, passed away early Monday evening, June 3, 2013, in Firelands Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 23, 1944, in Sandusky, daughter of the late Andrew and Bernadette “Detsy” (Bauman) Erne. Jane was a 1962 graduate of St. Mary Central Catholic High School.
She was a member of Sandusky St. Mary’s Church, and a former member of The Red Hat Society. In her spare time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, and was an avid Cleveland sports fan. Jane loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandson.
She is survived by her son, Jerome “Jerry” (Jacklynn) Wiggins; her grandson, Jagar Wiggins; three brothers, Tom (Deb), Jack (Dayle), and Jim (Mary) Erne; two sisters, Joan (Paul) Blade and BeeAnn (Jim) Petrick; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill (Carol) Erne.
Friends will be received 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 7, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
