Mabel H. Groves, 96, of Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, June 3, 2013, in the Parkvue Healthcare Center, Sandusky.
She was born Dec. 21, 1916, in Sandusky, the daughter of John and Nellie (Carter) Budenhagen.
For many years she and her late husband, Earl, owned and operated Hunter's Gift Shoppe and American Scrap. She was a member of the Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her son, John (Linda) Hunter of Sandusky; daughter, Sharon Scroggy of Sandusky; step daughters and step sons; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Hunter; her second husband, Paul Groves; and two sisters, Eulia Hart and Caroline Monk.
Visitation will be 9:30 -11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, at David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.
