Marilyn Jane (Morris) Doller (formerly Marilyn Snide), 78, passed away Monday, May 27, 2013, in Fort Myers, Fla.
She was born Nov. 16, 1934, in Hemlock (near Athens), Ohio, to Emlin Jay and Mary Morris.
Her parents; step-mother, Florence; and sister, R. Joan, preceded her in death.
Marilyn grew up in Dayton, Ohio, graduating from Fairview High School and receiving her BSHE degree in Education from Ohio University in 1957 and her MA degree in Education from The Ohio State University. She taught in Columbus City Schools (and Toledo City Schools) until retirement.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Jack, of Fort Myers Beach and Sandusky; stepbrothers, Don (Ellen) Hazel and Bob (Suzanne) Hazel; children, Susan (John) Guzzo, Rick (Cindy) Snide, Cindy (Bill) Evans and Tom (Lisa) Snide; stepsons, Philip (Trish) Doller and Kurt Doller; and 16 grandchildren.
Marilyn was a life member of the OSU Alumni Assn., Erie County OSU Club, OU Alumni Assn. and First Presbyterian Church, of Sandusky. She was an avid Buckeye fan who loved returning to the hills of Southeastern Ohio where her father grew up and many relatives still live. She loved reading and travelling and especially enjoyed being with family and friends.
A memorial service and celebration of Marilyn’s life will take place this summer at First Presbyterian Church, Sandusky. The date and time will be announced. Her lasting love and joy for life will always be with us, and we are happy knowing she is now at peace with her God.
