Charlotte J. Proctor-Edwards, 70, of Huron, passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 28, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center, following a lengthy illness.
Charlotte was born Dec. 6, 1942, in Charleston, W.Va., daughter of the late William and Sarah (Bowne) Skiles.
Charlotte was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Torrey Pines Care Center in Las Vegas, and was a member of Huron United Methodist Church and the Vermilion Masonic Lodge.
She enjoyed gardening, going out to eat, shopping; following both the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians, and was a NASCAR fan, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Charlotte is survived by her three daughters, Julie (Rodney) Fisher, of Huron, Patricia (Tom) McGinty, of University Heights, Ohio, and Pamela Sue Crocker, of Fort Mill, S.C.; and one son, Grover H. (Tina) Proctor Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, Kenneth (Rose) Skiles, of Smithton, Ill., and Max (JoAnne) Skiles, of Fosterville, W.V.; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover H. Proctor; her grandson, Grover Harrison Proctor III; her parents; and one brother, Clyde Skiles.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 31, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1. The Rev. Roger Skelley-Watts will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
