Ann E. Light, 80, of Greenfield Court, Fremont, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, in Toledo Hospital.
She was born March 28, 1933, in Orange, N.J., to Leo J. and Norah E. (Duffy) Caine. She was a graduate of St. Catherine’s Academy in Newport, R.I.
Ann married Thomas M. Light on March 5, 1955, in Newport, and he survives. She was a Homemaker and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Ann served on the Sacred Heart and SJCC School Board. She taught CCD classes at St. Ann for 24 years and was a Hospice of Memorial Hospital volunteer for more than 25 years.
Ann also served on various church committees, was a member of the Sierra Club and served as a Eucharist minister. She was involved in Reading Buddies at the Sacred Heart Campus. Ann enjoyed vacationing at Fort Meyers Beach, Fla., baking and senior exercise class. She loved St. Patrick’s Day and spending time with her grandchildren.
Ann is survived by her husband of 58 years, Thomas M. Light, of Fremont; children, Thomas M. (Cindy) Light II, Teresa (Kevin) Casey, and Timothy M. (Beth Gabel) Light, all of Fremont, and Lisa (Allen) Swaisgood, of Lindsey, Ohio; siblings, Catherine Berluti, of Newport, and Michael Caine, of Cape Cod, Maine; and grandchildren, Emily, Katie, Megan, Cory (Candace), Leigh Ann, Taylor and Ashley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Leonora Willever.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, May 31, with a Vigil at 7:30 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Road, Fremont. The Rev. Kenneth Lill will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont.
