Edward L. Stanley Jr., 79, of Clyde, went to the arms of Jesus on Thursday, May 23, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born July 27, 1933, in Teaberry, Ky., son of the late Edward F. and Dolly (Hall) Stanley Sr. Edward retired in 1993 from Whirlpool Corp. where he worked in assembly.
He was a volunteer at First Freewill Baptist Church Food Pantry and was a good Christian man. He enjoyed traveling.
Edward is survived by his wife, Vallie (Herrell), whom he married June 11, 1960, in Clyde; sons, Jeff Stanley, Rex Stanley and James Stanley, all of Clyde; daughter, Mary(Alan) Hillman, of Clyde; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Hester Chiow, of Clyde, Wilma Kardotzke, of Vickery, and Shirley (Michael) Warder, of Clyde.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dolly Sue Newsome; and his parents.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson, Clyde, where the funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 29. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
