Ray W. Long, 75, of Norwalk, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday evening, May 20, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center, surrounded by his family.
He was born Oct. 10, 1937, in Willard, son of the late Virgil W. and Velma B. (Cronenwett) Long and moved to Norwalk in 1964. Ray attended Milan Friends Church and was a former employee of Holiday Harbor Marina in Huron and Prepared Foods of Sandusky.
He enjoyed auto and boat mechanics, camping, and going for drives to Amish Country.
Ray is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia J. (Kinney) Long, of Norwalk; his children and their partners, Randy J. and Angel Long, of Catawba Island, David A. and Rebecca Long, of Milan, Kimberly A. and Wayne Towslee, of Norwalk, Joseph E. and Lori Long, of Norwalk, Steven W. Long (Robin Tusing), of Milan, and Louisville, Ky., Julie R. and Kenneth Chill, of Monroeville, and John C. Long (Lisa Ours), of Norwalk; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild soon to be born. He is also survived by his siblings and their spouses, Gene A. and Carol Long, of Shelby, Ohio, Linda V. Laux, of Norwalk, and Gary C. and Marty Long, of Norwalk.
Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Velma B. Long.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. Thursday, May 23, until services at 6:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk.
