Kenneth R. Myers, 77, of Collins, died unexpectedly Monday, May 20, 2013, at his home.
He was born Sept. 15, 1935, in Greenwich, and was a lifetime resident of the area. He worked as a mill operator at Tenneco for 43 years. During his retirement he worked for Townsend Township.
He loved gardening, cooking and traveling . He was a member of Freedom Christian Fellowship near Milan. He was also an active member of the Wakeman Grange, Sunday school bus driver, and helped out with the Fitchville Boy Scout Troop.
He is survived by his wife of seven years, Doris Bursley; his children, Frank (Linda) Myers, of Wakeman, Terri Morelock, of Norwalk, Victoria Osterland, of New London, Cheryl (Clayton) McIntire, of Georgia, Laurie (Mark) Oney, of Wakeman, and Jack Bickley, of Sandusky; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; his brother, John (Tonya) Myers, of Berlin Heights; a sister, Charlotte (Doug) Resor, of Norwalk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his his first wife, Alma (Eagle); his daughter, Mary Sue Myers; parents, Louis and Josephine (Willen) Myers; and brothers and sisters, Margaret “Geri” Houser, Doris Guckert, Virginia Myers, Pauline Moon, Billie Myers, Joanne Myers, Elsie Armstrong and Maxine Dillon; and brothers, George and Donnie Myers.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, until services at 4 p.m. at Freedom Christian Fellowship, 4935 Ohio 601 East, Norwalk. Pastor Roy Harless will officiate. A committal service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Meadow Green Memorial Park on Bogart Road near Huron.
