Theodore J. Temper, 88, of Huron, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at his residence with his family by his side.
Ted was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Huron and was a life-long resident of Huron. He owned and operated Ted Temper Real Estate, Huron, from 1965 until his retirement in 1991.
He was a US Army Veteran of WWII receiving two Bronze Battle Stars and The Purple Heart.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron. He was a charter member of the Huron Historical Society; a member of St. Edwards Council of the Knights of Columbus; the Huron Rotary Club; Disabled American Veterans; and Firelands Association of Realtors.
He is survived by his wife, Edna; two daughters, Christine (James) Tann, of Huron, and Jane (Monty) Tapp, of Huron; a son, Ted (Terri) Temper, of Huron; seven grandchildren, David (Debbie) Tann, Chrissy (Kris) Foster, Jennifer (Christopher) Cammalleri, TJ Temper, Trisha (Jeff) Helms, Ashley Tapp (Kevin Craig), and Lindsey Tapp; five great-grandchildren, Kylie, Addison, Andrew, Jada and Myah; and a sister, Carmel (Joe) Michel, of Sandusky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cosmo and Sylvia (Palumbo) Temper; seven sisters, Lucille Macioce, Ann Capoccia, Lillian Ristas, Mary “Yetta” Brienza, Adeline “Lena” Reno, Magdalene “Muffy” Bruce and Teresa Todaro; and two brothers, Edward “Pete” Temper and Ernest Temper.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 23, until a Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St., Huron. The Rev. Jeffery Sikorski will officiate. Burial will be at Scott Cemetery, Huron, with military honors.
