Louis John "Jack" Hart, 86, of Scottsdale, Ariz., passed away May 14, 2013.
Jack was raised in Huron. He graduated from high school in 1944 and joined the Army Airborne in order to serve his country during World War II.
After leaving the army he married Dorothy Niggle. They were married for 56 years. He graduated from Bowling Green State University and received his master's from Kent State University. They had three children as he started his life-long career as an educator in Cleveland, Ohio.
He moved the family to Arizona in 1962. He taught at Phoenix Union High School and Central High School, finishing his career as the physics teacher at Central High School.
Throughout his life he was always active in the church, including Valley Presbyterian and the Congregational Church of the Valley. He loved sports and the outdoors, especially football, and hiking with the Scottsdale YMCA "Y's Trekkers." Jack was a person who was devoted to his family, profession, hobbies and church.
Jack is survived by his son, Allan (Debbie) of Phonenix; daughter, Cindy Walker (Kelly) of Scottsdale; sister, Florence Poyer of Griffin, Ga., and brother, Rol of Sandusky.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; and son, Lt. James Hart.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 27, at the Congregational Church of the Valley, 12001 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale.
