Dorothy M. (Slocum) Baumler, 85, of Sandusky, passed away early Friday morning, May 17, 2013, in the Providence Care Center, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on Sept. 26, 1927, in Huron, the daughter of William and Rose (Henke) Slocum. She was a graduate of Huron High School and worked at the Sandusky Foundry for nearly 25 years before retiring.
In her earlier days she enjoyed boating, fishing and golfing. Dorothy spent many winters with her husband Lee in Zolfo Springs, Fla.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, L. A. "Lee" Baumler; two daughters, Christine (Ken) Obringer of Coldwater, Ohio, and Lisa (Paul) Nabel of Trotwood, Ohio; four grandchildren, Brooke, Heather, Paul and Ryan; two great-grandsons, Javin and Carson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
At her request cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, at David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
