Rose M. Kasuga, age 92, of Bellevue, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013, in Bellevue Care Center.
She was born Jan. 15, 1921, in Bellevue, the daughter of Vincent J. and Theresa (Serraino) Artino.
Rose worked at the General Electric Bellevue Lamp Plant. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and its Altar Rosary Society, Women’s Choir, former Daughters of Isabella, and the former Club Amer-Ital. She volunteered for many years at the Sorrowful Mother Shrine Gift Shop. Rose enjoyed crocheting and collecting Hummel’s.
Rose is survived by her husband of 74 years, Alex P. Kasuga, whom she married Jan 21, 1939, at Immaculate Conception Church; son, Gerald “Gerry” Kasuga of Ely, Minn.; and sister, Nancy (Mike) Barrett of Bellevue.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters; Peggy and Shari Kasuga; son, William Kasuga; brothers, Ben Artino and Joseph Artino; and sisters, Theresa Calle, Maryann Gampetro, and Josephine Farr.
Friends will be received 10-11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue. A funeral mass will be 11 a.m., at the church. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
