Marie H. Nelson, 80, of Norwalk died Tuesday morning, March 2, 2010, in Norwalk Memorial Home.
She was born Feb. 21, 1930, in Toledo, daughter of the late Jay L. and Mary (Brown) Angel. She was a 1948 graduate of Clay High School in Oregon, Ohio. Marie lived her life devoted to her husband and her five daughters and their families. Her greatest joy was spending time with them. Over the years she also volunteered for hospice, Akron General Hospital, Resurrection Catholic Church in Mansfield, Ohio, and St. Williams Catholic Church in Champion, Ohio.
Marie is survived by her daughters, Sherry Williams and Kathleen Hintz of Norwalk; daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Joseph Hintz of Norwalk, Janet and Dr. Kerry Allen of Huron and Mary Ann and Chris Kindred of Lexington, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four brothers; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and James Mercer of Curtice, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Arland E. Nelson in 2005.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Friday in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, with prayer services at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk; the Rev. Eric Mueller, associate pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church, and the Rev. Stan Szybka will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Norwalk.
