Ricky James Rarden, 57, of Sandusky, passed away late Monday morning , April 29, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born Jan. 21, 1956, in Sandusky, to James Minery and Patricia Adele (Tromblee) Rarden. Ricky was retired from General Motors, a member of the Eagles and a Son of the AMVETS. He loved spending time with family and friends, as well as, fishing and boating on Lake Erie.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Duck; a son, James Joseph Rarden; two grandsons, Trayjen and Keegen Rarden; three sisters, Renee Rarden, Rachelle Lessick and Raemalee McKinnon; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Minery Rarden; a sister, Mary Katherine; his paternal grandparents, Enos and Ellen Rarden; and his maternal grandparents, Ernie and Rose Reed.
At his request, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Friday, May 3, until a memorial service at 11 a.m. at David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Pastor Dan Miller of First Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be at Catawba Island Cemetery, Catawba Island.
