Adrienne M. (Petersen) Stapanian, 58, of Huron, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at her residence.
She was born June 16, 1954, in Virginia, Minn., and grew up in Columbus. She was a resident of Huron since 2001 coming from Columbus, and Corvallis, Ore.
Adrienne’s working career centered on nursing, research and education. She specialized in pediatrics and maternal health care. During her career she worked as a staff nurse, research nurse, community health nurse, school nurse, adjunct clinical instructor, nurse consultant, and for several county health programs as coordinator.
She graduated from Bishop Watterson High School, Columbus; Mount Carmel School of Nursing, Columbus; Franklin University, Columbus; and The Ohio State University where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing Degree.
Adrienne enjoyed gardening, listening to music, especially blues and old Motown, sewing, hiking, cross-country skiing, swimming, snowshoeing, movies, helping people, and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Martin; son, Kevin, at home; her parents, Marius and Constance (West) Petersen, of Greenville, S.C.; a sister, Catherine (David) Schilling, of Columbus; two brothers, Scott (Becky) Petersen, of Charlotte, and Mark (Lisa) Petersen, of Los Angeles; nieces, Morgan Petersen and Renee Rigdon; and nephews, Erik and Alex Schilling, and Steve Rigdon.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. Sunday, May 5, until service at 3 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main St., Huron. Chaplain Brenda Hurley-Shank, from Stein Hospice, Sandusky, will officiate.
