Delores (Davis) Edwards, 52, Sandusky, was called from home to rest Thursday, April 25, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center, after a lengthy illness.

She was born on Aug. 7, 1960, in Sandusky, to Roosevelt Davis and Eloise (Hunter) Davis Rainey, and graduated from Sandusky High School in 1979.

Delores was a trusted and devoted employee of Sawmill Creek Resort for 13 years, until her retirement due to illness. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, playing cards, bowling, and spending time with family and friends, who will cherish her memory.

Delores is survived by her mother and step-father, Eloise and Herbert Rainey, Sandusky; children, Rodrigo (Stephanie) Davis of Dayton, Ohio, Twanishia “Ne Ne” Davis of St. Petersburg, Fla., Keynita Frazier of Detroit, Julius Webb and Quanshenel Webb, both of Clarkville, Tenn., and Dominic Webb of Sandusky; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Cassandra (James) Edwards of Cleveland, Ohio, and Jacquie Shabazz of Sandusky; brothers, Calvin Nesbit of Nebraska, and Roosevelt Davis of Columbus, Ohio; step sisters, Marchell (Donnie) Alexander of Sandusky, Yolanda (Charles) Ocheltree of Elyria, Ohio, and Angela (Eddy) Morrow of Lorain; step brothers, Danny Rainey, of Sandusky, Johnny Rainey of Lorain, and Leon (Pam) Rainey of Huntsville, Ala.; aunts, Lena Mae Cherry and Elise Hunter; uncles, Dan Hunter, James Hunter, and Irel Davis; special long-time friend, Stanford Strauder; cousin, Kathy Johnson; several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roosevelt Davis; brother, Calvin Davis; maternal grandparents, Hester and Ida Mae Hunter; paternal grandparents, Tony and Alice Davis; and paternal great-grandmother, Hattie Davis.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be noon Thursday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
