Howard Percy Ferrell, 64, of Sandusky, departed this life on Thursday evening, April 18, 2013, in Providence Care Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born on Oct. 20, 1948, in Shubuta, Miss.
He worked at Sandusky Cabinets for many years as a supervisor until its closure. He then worked for Plum Brook Country Club until his illness. Percy enjoyed fishing, hunting, and all sports. He also loved to watch the Andy Griffith Show.
Percy leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 39 years, Janet (McCarty) Ferrell, whom he married on Nov. 20, 1973; sons, Howard “Jabbar”, Dashun, and James “Tank” Ferrell, all of Sandusky; daughters, Patricia (Vince) Pollard of Peoria, Ill., and Sheya and Deondra Ferrell, both of Sandusky; brothers, Ernest “Mug” Ferrell of Elyria, Ohio, Alexander Willis of Atlanta, and Lindsey Willis of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Angie Willis of Columbus Ga.; and many nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie B. Roberts Ferrell and Tanner Ferrell; step mother, Carrie (Willis) Ferrell; and brothers, Melvin and Rayfus Ferrell.
Friends may call 10 a.m.-noon Friday, April 26, at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 1920 Eddy Henry Way, Sandusky. Funeral services will follow at noon at the church, Rev. Curtis L. Johnson Jr. will officiate. Entombment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
