Joseph P. DuBois, 71, of Elyria, Ohio, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at his home after a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 26, 1942, in Sandusky, to Paul and Eleanor DuBois. He graduated from St. Mary Central Catholic High School in Sandusky and Belermine College in Kentucky. He served with the U.S. Navy as an operating room technician and had been employed as a social worker and in later life as a house painter.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Janet (Smalley); daughter, Chere DuBois; brother, Peter (Shirley) DuBois of Sandusky; and sisters, Mary Singler of Sandusky and Ann (Ed) Pifher of New Washington, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Stephen.
Friends will be received 4-7 p.m. Thursday April 25, at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. Visitation will also be 9-10 a.m. Friday, April 26, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. A funeral mass will follow at 10 a.m. at the church, Rev. Father Joseph Steinbauer, celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Sandusky.
