Kenneth C. “Gramps” Baker, 73, of Berlin Heights, died Friday, April 19, 2013, in University of Toledo Medical Center.
He was born April 16, 1940, in Berlin Heights and lived in the area his entire life. He was a 1958 graduate of Berlin Heights High School. He served in the U.S. Army following high school.
When he returned from the service, he worked at Kelble Brothers. He also worked at Heckelman Service, drove truck for Delisanti Trucking, and most recently at Chef's Garden. He served on the Berlin Township Fire Department for many years.
Ken enjoyed racing, having driven sprint car when he was younger and loved John Deere.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kay (Williams) whom he married June 20, 1964; his children, Shelly (David) Ball and Kenneth C. Baker Jr., of Berlin Heights; sister, Marilyn Baker, of Norwalk; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold C. and Clara Baker; a brother, Harold C. “Bud” Baker; and a sister in infancy.
