Jane A. Shenigo, 87, Sandusky, passed away Monday afternoon, April 15, 2013, in The Commons of Providence, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 22, 1925, Jane was the daughter of Cecil and Isabelle (LaGrange) Reitz. A lifelong resident of Sandusky, she worked at Philco, Barr Rubber, and Cedar Point, where she enjoyed dancing to the music of the big bands that played there.
Jane also enjoyed golfing in the Friday night couples league with her husband “Hank”, shopping with her daughter Marty, cooking for her family and spending time with her many friends.
She is survived by her sons, Timothy (Deborah) Shenigo, and Patrick (Cam) Shenigo, both of Sandusky; daughter, Marty (Glenn) Brennan of Sandusky; nine grandchildren, Timothy Shenigo Jr., Corrie Shenigo, Julianne Shenigo, Carly Shenigo, Benjamin Shenigo, Madison Shenigo, Sara Carver, Christopher Carver, and Michael Carver; and two great-grandchildren, Noah Shenigo and Maxwell Shenigo.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Henry J. Shenigo, in 2009, whom she married on April 17, 1948; her brother, Robert; and her parents.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, until time of prayers at 12:45 p.m., in the Gathering Space of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Father Philip Feltman will officiate. Entombment will will be in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Sandusky.
