Rose LeJeune

Rose LeJeune, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, 84, of Fremont, passed away Sunday evening, April 14, 2013, in her home surrounded by her family.

She was born Feb. 5, 1929, in Fremont, the daughter of Frank and Leonarda (Gerber) Lochotzki. She married Francis J. LeJeune Sr. on August 26, 1950, in Fremont, and they maintained a lifelong companionship. Rose was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Rose graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1947 and Mercy School of Nursing in 1950. She worked as an RN at Fremont Memorial Hospital on the pediatrics floor for 35 years. She was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross for many years.

Her passion was flower gardening and she was a member of Plant N Bloom Garden Club for many years, and was also a member of Croghan St. Garden Club of St. Joseph Church, Marian Rosary Society. She received her Master Gardener’s certificate from Terra Elder College. Rose was known as “The Flower Lady of Birchard Ave.”

She is survived by her children, Annette (Ron) Carnicom of Helena, Ohio, Joe (Mary) LeJeune of Fremont, Amy (Steve) Feasel of LaPorte, Ind., Marian Erchenbrecher of Fremont, Mark (Marty Zyski) LeJeune of Fremont, Chris (Tedi) LeJeune of Findlay, John (Tonnie) LeJeune of Fremont, and Ted (Lisa) LeJeune of Fremont; 27 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Charles (Janet) Lochotzki of Sandusky, and Bill (Jean) Lochotzki of Toledo; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Teresa LeJeune; son, Clair; granddaughter, Angela (Eberly) Heimert; and infant grandson, Michael LeJeune.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday April 17, at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral & Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch St., Fremont. A Mass of Remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Memorial donations may be made to Bishop Hoffman Catholic Schools.
