Charles Lowry, 78, of Berlin Heights, died Thursday, April 11, 2013, at home.
He was born Dec. 25, 1934, in Sandusky and lived in Berlin Heights most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army and was a life member of AMVETS Post 22 and VFW Post 7576, and was a member of American Legion Post 397 in Vermilion. He retired from the Lorain Ford plant in 1996 and also farmed for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of more than 56 years, Carol (Neidler); his children, Debbie (Eric) Brummitt, Dave Lowry and Diann (Sean) Neer, all of Berlin Heights, and Chuckie Lowry, of Lagrange, Ky.; a brother, Jim (Pie) Lowry, of Berlin Heights; sister, Lola (Rex) Sieting, of Sandusky, Mich.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Dean Lowry; his parents, Albert “Cap” and Wilma (Howey) Lowry; brothers. Albert “Spunk” Lowry and John Lowry; and two grandsons.
Graveside services with military rites will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, at Riverside Cemetery in Berlin Heights. Arrangements are being handled by Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, Berlin Heights. Condolences can be left at mormanfuneralhome.com.
