Dorothy “Lee” Meek, 83, of Fisher Drive, Fremont, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, surrounded by her family in Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 11, 1929, in Sandusky, to Harold and Lydia (Justi) Speir. She was a 1947 graduate of Sandusky High School.
Lee married Charles “Chuck” H. Meek on July 4, 1953, in Sandusky, and he survives.
She was an interior decorator for Tschumy-Fine Furniture and for Thingamajigs in Fremont.
Lee was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and cooking. Lee also enjoyed her monthly dinners with her cousins. She loved interior design and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Lee is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles “Chuck” H. Meek, of Fremont; children, Amy (Dennis) Schwartz, of Columbus, Greg (Ann Marie) Meek, of Fremont; daughter-in-law, Kim Meek, of Fremont; grandchildren, Shawn Zimmerman, Dawn Hedrick, Michael Meek, Erica and Michelle Meek; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Hedrick and Jackson Meek.
She was preceded in death by her son, Brian Meek; parents; and sister, Beverly Buckley.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. Sunday, April 14, until a memorial service at 3 p.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church. Pastor Keith Koppenhofer will officiate. Private Burial will take place prior to the service at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont.
As per her wishes, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church-ELCA, 902 E. State St., Fremont, OH 43420.
