Eleanor E. Jackson, 89, Sandusky and formerly of Milan, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born June 30, 1923, in Grand Island, Neb., to Clifford and Mildred (Hiemer) Corbin, and came to this area in 1949.
Eleanor had attended the Milan Friends Church. She worked for General Motors in Sandusky for 15 years and was a retired member of U.A.W. Local 913. She enjoyed playing bingo, and she loved her dogs and pets.
Eleanor is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Marilyn Jackson of Castalia; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carmen Johnson of Wenatchee, Wash., and Nona Bane of Scranton, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William Leroy Jackson, in 1996; daughter, Brenda Mowry, in 1976; son, Danny Jackson, in 1995; brother, Robert Silbaugh of Spokane, Wash.; great-grandchildren, Heather Jackson, Devon Jackson in 1995, Hallie Jean Kohlmeyer in 1998; and great-great-grandchildren, Celina and Wayne Jackson IV.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery.
