Alice L. Singler, 85, residing in Sandusky, passed away Friday evening, March 29, 2013, in Firelands Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Alice was born March 6, 1928, in Sandusky, daughter of the late Walter and Louise (Guenther) Zank. Alice graduated from Sandusky High School in 1945 and attended The Ohio State University.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Alice enjoyed traveling, interior decorating, cooking, bowling, and playing bridge. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, wonderful grandmother, and delighted great-grandmother. She was at her happiest spending time with her family and friends.
Alice is survived by her husband, David Edgar Singler, whom she married July 26, 1952; three sons, David Edward Singler, of Sandusky, Daniel George (Kathleen) Singler, of Sylvania, Ohio, and Timothy Richard (Christine) Singler, of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Danielle Singler, of Toledo, Michael Singler, of Seattle, and Julia (Adam) Hartman, of Endicott, N.Y.; her great-grandson, Keegan Hartman; and other relatives.
Along with her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her sister, Lois Zank.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Groff Funeral Home and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Eric Mueller will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
