Larry L. Fritz I, 72, of New London, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, in Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.
He was born Sept. 14, 1940, in Norwalk, the son of Peter A. and Anna M. (Grimmer) Fritz.
Larry was raised in Norwalk and moved to New London in 1969. He worked for A & P Grocery Store for 22 years, 11 years in Norwalk and 11 years in New London until 1979. Larry “the Pizza Man” and his wife Rita, owned and operated the New London Pizza House since 1969.
He was a member of Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church, New London, where he was a Eucharistic minister, a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Norwalk Eagles 711 for 54 years.
He loved his family, children, and grandchildren. Larry was an avid boater and fisherman. He loved Lake Erie and the Marblehead area. He loved to travel, read, and spend time on his computers. The pre-school children will all remember “the Pizza Man” for the pizza tours he gave them every year.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rita A. (Miller) Fritz; children, Larry (Lisa) Fritz II of Norwalk, Mary (Greg) Spears of Marblehead, Geri Spears of New London; grandchildren, Haley Spears, Trevor Spears, Heather Spears, Nikki Spears, Larry Fritz III, and Jamie Fritz; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alan (Jill) Miller of Olmsted Falls, Ohio; sister-in-law, Sister Mary Alan Miller of New London; and his dog, Coco.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, where a service and time of sharing memories will be at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church, 18 Park Ave., New London, with Father Doug Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery, New London.
 Memorials may be given to his grandchildren’s college fund, Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church, or the New London Public Library, 67 S. Main St., New London, OH 44851.
