Allen Thomas, 62, of Sandusky, departed this earthly life Thursday, March 21, 2013, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 25, 1951, in Sandusky, son of the late Arthur L. and Lilly B. (Tyson) Thomas. He was employed by Lear, Conrail and Goodwill Industries.
Allen was a loving father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a member of Porters Memorial C.M.E. Church, where he was a trustee and usher, and served on many auxillaries. Allen put many activities together for the family and church, known for his cooking — and especially for his ribs — he will be missed by his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Reggie (Glenda) Heard, of Huntsville, Ala., Eric Thomas and DeQuarius Pate, both of Sandusky; grandchildren, Markeith Roberson and ReAuna Heard; two great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy M. Hayes, of Sandusky; brothers, Ernest (Cozette) Thomas, of Richfield, Ohio, Leon (Patricia) Thomas, Emmanuel Thomas, and Moses Thomas, all of Sandusky, and Isaiah Thomas, of Toledo,; a lifelong friend, Lavina Pate; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arthur L. Thomas Jr., Robert E. Thomas, and Henry J. Thomas; and a niece, Carla M. Matthews.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, until Homegoing Services at 1 p.m. at Porters Memorial C.M.E. Church, 1722 Third St., Sandusky. TheRev. Randolph White will officiate.
